James “Skip” Liberty voluntarily joined the Army in 1968 during the Vietnam War. Upon his departure, his uncle gave him a home video camera and asked that he document as much as he could. That surprisingly turned out to be much of his military journey.
With footage from basic training, Vietnam camps and battlefields, and much more. After bringing the tapes home, Liberty put them away until a chance encounter with filmmaker Tommy Dilger. After learning of the footage Liberty had, Dilger worked with him to compile the raw video into his first feature film.
